The Anesthesiology Department Grand Rounds is a CME-accredited weekly program. Grand Rounds are held Wednesday mornings from 7:00-8:00 a.m. in G100 Bondurant Hall. This didactic series covers a wide variety of anesthesia-related topics as well as regularly scheduled morbidity and mortality conferences. The majority of the lectures are given by UNC School of Medicine faculty but visiting professors from outside the institution also lecture on a regular basis.

Visiting Professor Program

We are actively involved in a Visiting Professor Program with other excellent programs around the country. Just as our academic faculty members are invited to contribute to the educational programs at other institutions, we invite a number of visiting professors to our campus each year. These experts broaden our perspectives on important current problems and controversies in anesthesiology by working in the operating rooms, discussing specific cases and practices with residents, presenting formal clinical conferences, and interacting in informal exchanges with the staff.
