    Dr. Fritock's professional training includes a residency in Anesthesiology as well as a fellowship in  
    Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.  She attended medical school at Wake
    Forest University School of Medicine and recently returned to the Triangle to join the staff of the Duke 
    Cardiothoracic Anesthesia Division.

    Dr. Fritock's interests included  transesophageal echocardiography as well as resident and fellow
    education in cardiothoracic anesthesiology.

    At the conclusion of this activity, the learner should be able to:

    1 - Understand the evidence of management of the patient with patent foramen ovale undergoing
          orthopedic surgery.
  
    2 - Define the role of transesophageal and transthoracic echocardiography in the diagnosis of 
          patent foramen ovale.
