Selection Process

Applicants must complete an Application for Appointment to the Housestaff of The University of North Carolina Hospitals, and provide a personal statement, curriculum vitae (CV), a copy of their medical transcripts, copy of Dean's letter, and letters of recommendation (see below).  Requirements for further consideration of the application are that the applicant (1) holds an M.D. degree or equivalent, (2) completes anesthesiology training prior to onset of fellowship in an accredited residency program, and (3)  demonstrates evidence of interest and ability to carry out research, publication, clinical, and academic pursuits.

Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship

Number of Positions for 2009-2010: 2       Duration of fellowship: 12 months

Deadline for submission: September 15, 2008 (as long as positions remain available).

Chapel Hill, North Carolina 

Director:  Robert D. Valley, M.D.

Your application should be accompanied by the following:

• A copy of your Chair's letter.
• A copy of your Medical school transcript. 
• Curriculum Vitae (CV)
• One letter of reference from the anesthesiology program director in which the applicant is training or has trained.
• A second letter of reference.
• A personal statement.

Selected candidates will interview with the department chair and the pediatric anesthesia faculty.
